Through The Eyes
‘Through The Eyes’ is a photographic series reflecting a personal journey of self-representation and identity, exploring themes around cultural and religious expectations and standards often imposed mostly upon Arab women.
Each photo within the series represents a cultural significance to the artists homeland of Libya, showcasing the country’s distinct culture while allowing for the viewer to consider and relate to it organically.

While in lockdown, I began working on a semi-series titled “I Get By With A Little Help From My Friends” sharing people’s lockdown stories in hopes it gives a sense of relief to others knowing there are not alone.

The Apple
fruit bowl can be found in almost every household. Either placed down on a countertop in the kitchen or on the living room table. This project, 'The Apple' serves as a metaphor to “fly on the wall” witnessing all that is surrounded. The 1 minute art piece is a collection of sounds within one still image.
